The Environmental Education Community of Interest is offering another round in its cultural competency workshop series this October and November. The workshop consists of three, three hour sessions facilitated by Heather Kawamoto from the Puget Sound Educational Service District. The session dates and times are posted on the PWI calendar (Wednesdays, Oct 21 and Nov 4 & 15), and clock hours and funds to cover substitute teachers are available for K-12 teachers.
The workshops are open to all formal and informal educators in the Puyallup River Watershed, so feel free to share this opportunity with others who might be interested. From what I’ve heard, about half of the slots have already been claimed and space is limited, so if you can make all three sessions and you are planning on going, it would behoove you to register today. Call Carrie at the EECOI office for more details. 253.383.7245
