Why We’re Here

George+Washington+Carver“I wanted to know the name of every stone and flower and bird and beast. I wanted to know where it got its color, where it got its life – but there was no one to tell me.”
George Washington Carver

Right now, as you read this, the same thing that the young George Washington Carver experienced is happening here in the Puyallup Watershed. There is a lack of knowledge and a scarce communication within our communities about the natural environment and our place in it. The idea that this situation can be addressed, that kids and adults alike need a place to go for answers about their watershed goes to the heart of what the EECOI is all about.
